Last Saturday the 23rd January it was the turn of the older runners in the club to compete in the Sussex Masters Cross Country Championships at Lancing Manor. Lewes AC and Hailsham Harriers are in a neck and neck battle to win the East Sussex Sunday Cross County League title. After 3 matches out of six both teams have 5 points. After the first two events Lewes AC were lying second and it needed a win by Lewes at the third event at Framfield to draw level with Hailsham in their title quest….

6th December in the WSEH open at Eton saw Livvy Connor (U20W) open her Pole Vault season with a fine clearance at 3.80m. Sunday 13th December saw Jack Harris (U17M) and Bill Saunders (U17M) competing in the Vault at Brunel jumps series. Jack cleared three new pbs to raise his best from 3.32m to 3.61m. After 3 matches from the four that make up the Sussex Cross Country League the Lewes AC women’s team is leading the club’s chase for County medals. In the tough and hilly cross county course at Lancing the Lewes team packed their 4 scoring runners at the front of the race. This secured first place by a large margin from the team from Hailsham Harriers….

Triple successes were achieved by Lewes AC athletes in the hilly Crowborough 10K plus team and individual successes in the Harvey Curtis sponsored Sussex Road Race Challenge.
