Personal best times and medals for Lewes AC runners at the Chichester 10K
Leading the way with both a new personal best time and winning the women’s race outright was Izzy Coomber. With a time of 35mins 13sec she is now the best 10K women’s runner in the history of Lewes AC. Supporting Izzy to secure the women’s team silver medal just behind Arena 80 was Lydia Godfrey with a time of 41.15 a PB by over 2 minutes and Dinah Godfree with a new personal best of 43.06 which is over 3mins better than her previous PB.
Getting in on the PB jamboree was Josh Burgess who was the 6th man to finish in the race with over 1700 finishers. His time of 32mins 08secs was over 2mins faster than he has run before. With Matt Bradford who finished 12th in a time of 32.54 and Chris Gilbert who finished 27th in 34.05 placed the Lewes AC men’s team in the gold medal position. Commiserations must go to Chris Gilbert who came within 2 seconds of his 2015 PB and also by just finishing 4th in his age category.
There were also notable performances by other Lewes AC runners. Karin Divall in the women aged over 55 category finished in an extremely creditable time of 44.05 to be placed 4th in the age group. Also just missing the third medal position was Jonathon Burrell who in the men aged over 50 category finished 4th in a time of 37.41 which placed him 79th overall in the race. Also competing in this age category was Colin Bennett who was placed 103rd overall and 6th in the age group with a time of 38.34.
Gustavo Iriarte had his usual storming run to finish in 94th place in 37.57 followed by Mike Green in 110th place in a time of 38.47. Constantine Callifas finished in 187th place in 41.00 and Tony Deacon 235 in 42.36. Jane Boyes finished with a time of 46.35; Meredith Gilbert 56.42 and Bev Sheridan 59.29.
