Crawley Track and Field Open Meeting -17th July 2013

On the same day and evening as the Phoenix 10K Lewes AC had 10 younger athletes competing in the open event at Crawley. It must have been something in the air as the ten athletes achieved 12 life time bests in their events. This included a new club record for Sam Rogers who ran 2mins 07.20 for the under 15 boys 800 metres.

The evening of Wednesday 10th July saw the third and final match of the Sussex Vets League, held at our home track. Two Lewes AC teams have finished top of their leagues in two age groups. The club’s young under 13 and under 15 athletes finished top of the UKA Youth Development League following a closely fought match at Hastings. Lewes AC win at Heathfield 10K

The Lewes AC men’s team at the Heathfield 10K won both the individual prizes and also the team event. David Bradford won the overall event in a time of 34m 23secs with David’s brother Matt finishing in third place in 36mins 32secs. Livvy Connor wins South East Schools inter-counties combined events championships

Lewes had two athletes selected to compete at the South East Region Inter County Schools combined events championships at K2 Crawley. Livvy Connor in competition with the best 28 school athletes from the eight counties that make up the south east region won the gold medal and helped the Sussex County Intermediate Girls team to win the hepthalon event. Rob Mullett selected to represent GB

Rob Mullett who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the European Team Competition at Gateshead on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd June 2013. Rob has been selected to compete in the 3000m Steeplechase. Rob currently heads the UK rankings for this event with a personal best time of 8mins 31.62secs.
