As part of a hectic period for Lewes AC members Livvy Connor was selected to represent Sussex in the Southern Counties under 20 Inter Counties Competition. Livvy competed in the Pole Vault and cleared 3.50m to gain third place. This was a truly impressive performance considering many in the event were four years older.

There was great and exciting racing at the Herstmonceux Castle Relays last week. With teams of four each running a leg of something over 1.5miles the Lewes AC men’s A team was just second behind a strong Hastings AC team. Pat Cook is the first winner of the inaugural Masters Mantell Challenge a new event put on for Lewes AC members. Run over 5.4 miles of the Sussex Downs each runner has a staggered start time with the slower runners starting before the faster runners. With the Olympic event now one year old Mick Acott a Lewes AC club members was determined to celebrate and keep his memories fresh and alive. To this end he entered the Anniversary 5MILE at the Olympic Park. Despite several forced withdrawals due to injury and circumstances, 12 Lewes AC turned out for a gruelling Phoenix 10k on Wednesday evening the 17th July.
