A fourth Lewes athletes has been selected to represent Sussex at the English schools championships in July at Birmingham. After getting three pb’s over the weekend and the English school standard Bill Saunders has been added to the Junior boys team in Pole Vault.

Fresh from winning the South Down Way 100mile relay four of the Lewes team went on to dominate the Heathfield race and win the team prize by a significant margin. Four Lewes athletes gained the required entry standard to go into the schools selection process for one of the 60 places available in the Sussex team for the championships at the Alexander stadium Birmingham in July. Reaching for new heights was James Shackleton who in the Sussex Schools Championships on Saturday 14th June won a gold medal in the U20M Pole Vault with a vault of 4.00m.
