UK U17/U15 Champs

Held at Bedford on Saturday 8th August 2009. Just two Lewes athletes achieved the required standard. Emilie Blackwell cleared 3m to take fourth place in U15g Pole Vault and Naomi Lee cleared p.b. 2.70m to take 5th place and move to to 7th on UK rankings it would have been even better as her third attempt at 2.80m was a huge clearance only to see…

Held at Crawley on Sunday 2nd August 2009. Just one Lewes athlete competing. Naomi Lee in B string Pole Vault. A fine second place with 2.60m made even better as most girls/women in this event are 2nd year U17 and Naomi is first year U15. Well done Na.

Sussex U15 League final

Well done to a much depleted team due to the summer holidays. The U15 final held at Withdean stadium Brighton on Friday 31.07.2009. Three athletes gained the required standard and made it through the rigorous selection procedure to represent not only Sussex schools but Lewes at the English schools champs held at Sheffield on the 10th & 11th July. South Downs 100 mile Relay

A team of six tackled the 100 mile South Downs Relay on Saturday 6th June and came 4th out of 47 teams. Aiming for a top ten place the team were 5 minutes off third place in a time of 11 hours 22 minutes.
