Thomas Roach Selected for GB & NI Ultra Short Trail Team for 2025 World Championships
We’re excited to share some trail-running news. British Athletics has again selected Lewes AC’s Thomas Roach to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Canfranc, Spain!
The Championships take place between 25th and 28th September and will see the world’s best mountain and trail runners compete across various gruelling events.
As a GB & NI Short Trail team member, Thomas will tackle a challenging 44.5km course featuring a staggering 3,657m elevation gain and loss, including an ascent to La Moleta, a climb of nearly 1,500m over just 6km.
Thomas was a gold medal-winning GB team member at the last Championships in Austria in 2023. We’re delighted to see him continue to demonstrate his world-class ability on the international stage.
Joining Thomas on the men’s team are Bertie Houghton, Joseph Wright, Grant Cunliffe, Ben Rothery, and Kris Jones—forming a formidable squad with high ambitions for both individual and team medals.
