Lewes AC young athletes in action with mixed results over 3 matches
Having had a bad day at the office in the under 13 and under15 Youth Development League (YDL) match at the end of May the young athletes bounced back with great performances over the following four days. In the under 17 and under 20 age group YDL at Gillingham one day later the team secured second spot behind a strong Ashford side and in the Sussex under 15 league at Eastbourne four days later the boys won their match with the girls in second position.
The first of the three matches was the younger age group YDL where Lewes was up against teams from Bournemouth, Plymouth and Guildford. In this match the Lewes AC under 13 and under 15 athletes struggled and finally finished 7th. Whilst having a poor team finish there were some really good individual and personal best performances. Many athletes in the true spirit of competition filled places in events they normally do not do allowing Team Sussex to gain second place.
