Lewes AC Runners Impress at 2026 Sussex Grand Prix Horsham 10k

2026 Sussex Grand Prix Horsham 10k

Five members of Lewes Athletic Club took on challenging conditions at the 2026 Sussex Grand Prix Horsham 10k on Sunday, 10th May, producing a series of strong performances and age-category successes.

Organised by Horsham Joggers, the event started and finished at Horsham Rugby Club and featured an undulating, scenic, multi-terrain two-lap course. Competitors faced windy weather and light showers throughout the race.

Leading the way for Lewes AC was Karin Divall, competing in the Vet Women 65–69 category, who secured 1st place in her age group in an impressive time of 51 minutes 32 seconds.

Bob Hughes also claimed top honours in the Vet Men 75–79 category, finishing 1st in his age group with a time of 54:40.

Helen Bowman delivered another strong run for the club, placing 4th in the Vet Women 55–59 category in 51:46, while Ian Hilder finished 7th in the Vet Men 65–69 category with a time of 50:26.

Gary Loughlin rounded off the Lewes AC team performances, taking 10th place in the Vet Men 55–59 category in 51:25.

“The club was delighted with the performances across all age categories, particularly given the testing weather and demanding course conditions,” said Lewes Athletic Club Chair Philip Westbury. “To come away with two age-category victories and several strong placings was a tremendous achievement by all our runners.”
