Podium Finish and Relay Win Highlight Lewes AC’s Moyleman Success

Lewes Athletic Club runners on the startline at the 2026 Moyleman

More than 20 marathon runners, alongside 16 half-marathon relay teams and a strong contingent of volunteers from Lewes Athletic Club, took part in the 2026 Moyleman, an annual off-road marathon set in the hills surrounding Lewes.

Held annually in memory of local runner Chris Moyle, who had a deep love for the South Downs, the Moyleman is renowned for its challenging terrain and scenic beauty. The race begins at Landport Bottom on the western edge of Lewes and takes in a demanding route over Black Cap, Castle Hill, Firle Beacon, and Mount Caburn. Runners face approximately 3,000 feet of climbing and steep, technical descents.

This year’s race was run in near-perfect conditions, with a sunny sky and cool spring temperatures providing an ideal backdrop for runners tackling the demanding course.

Lewes AC athletes delivered impressive results across both the marathon and relay events.
