Track sessions for Lewes AC members

Lewes AC offers coached track sessions for members, catering for different abilities and training goals.

Wednesdays | Performance Group

Our Wednesday sessions are interval sessions for our Performance Group of faster male and female adult distance runners.

These sessions are mainly by invitation.

Thursdays | Senior Beginner to intermediate | 18:00–19:00

Improve your speed and fitness with our coached beginner-to-intermediate track interval session.

Sign up for the Thursday session.

Saturdays | Senior Time-led sessions | 09:00

Saturday sessions are time-led rather than distance-led, making them suitable for runners of all abilities.

They can also be a good option if you are returning from injury or a period away from running.

Each session can take a different form, with coaching focused on improving your running form, technique and fitness.

Sign up for the Saturday session.

Track sessions for non-members

Non-members can also use the Lewes AC track for organised sessions led by either a Lewes AC coach or a non-Lewes AC coach.

Training etiquette & safety

Our track is shared by runners, coaches and other athletes. Please follow these guidelines to keep everyone safe and make training enjoyable for all.

Running on the track

  • Warm up clockwise in an outer lane. This helps you see other runners and avoid collisions.
  • Run anti-clockwise during training. Follow the direction of the session unless your coach instructs otherwise.
  • Use the innermost lane when running. If you need to walk or rest, move to an outer lane to allow active runners through.
  • Look before changing lanes. Check over your shoulder and avoid cutting across another runner’s path.
  • Keep moving. If you need to stop completely, move off the track to a suitable area. Please do not stop on the finish line or congregate there.

Throwing area and infield

  • Follow the coach’s instructions and stay clear of throwing areas.
  • Never walk across the throwing area. Use the route behind the direction of the throws.
  • Respect the infield. Keep it clear for athletes and activities taking place there.

Respect other users

Our track is used for running, race walking, frame running, wheelchair training, and other field activities. Be considerate of everyone sharing the facility and give other users the space they need.
Thank you for helping us keep Lewes AC’s track safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Where is the Lewes AC track?
