| The evening of Wednesday 1st May saw the first round of the Sussex Vets League, held at Eastbourne. As with the Southern Athletics League, Lewes are twinned with Haywards Heath Harriers, and both teams were out in force. | There was both success and disappointment for the Lewes AC runner Alan Velecky in the Brighton Marathon. The success and it was a big one was that of the 7,600 runners in the race Alan finished as 28th man and 32nd overall. His time was 2hours 53mins and 59seconds. | 28 Lewes AC athletes travelled across to Hastings over the weekend to compete in the tough and hilly Hastings Half Marathon and came back with some amazing results.
